Industrial battery powered lights made in Nottingham, UK. For skips, fences, scaffolding, bulkheads & hoardings

FAQ

Below you’ll find answers to some frequently asked questions about our range of safety lights. If you have a question which hasn’t been addressed below, then please get in touch and our team will be more than happy to help.

Yes. Our LED safety Skip Lights, Scaffold Lights and Fence Lights are designed to ensure you operate within all the relevant regulations.

Section 139 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 65 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 state that it is a legal requirement that any skip placed on a public highway must be lit at night.

Our range of safety lamps offer great energy efficiency by using LED technology. Daylight sensors are fitted as standard, so the lights will turn on automatically in reduced light, and also save energy during the day.

The skip safety lights are simple to fit, and are secured with tamper resistant safety bolts.

Our daylight sensors ensure that the lights turn on in low light and preserve battery during the daytime.

If your light isn’t turning ON it could mean that there is already sufficient light.

Put your hand over the lens to simulate a low light environment. If this doesn’t cause the lights to come on, then please call us.

If your light isn’t turning OFF, it could be that there is insufficient daylight.

In an office environment, artificial light does not always provide the correct wavelengths. Take the light outside in broad daylight. The light should stop flashing. If it doesn’t, please call us.

At JC Multilight, our team of engineers are able to customise our products to your requirements. We are happy to talk through any specific requests you have.

Our standard LED colour is amber. However, we have previously supplied White, Red, Green and even PINK to our customers. If you require a different colour then please get in touch.

In order to prevent tampering, the lights are not fitted with an external on/off switch.

Our lights have been designed for maximum efficiency and battery longevity. They come with a daylight sensor as standard and will switch themselves off if there is sufficient light.

If you need to store them for a significant amount of time, we would recommend that you simply disconnect the battery pack.

This depends on where you live in the UK, as each local authority is able to interpret the law differently and set its own regulations. We recommend that you check with your local authority before purchasing. Local authorities may require anything between one and four lights per skip.

For scaffolding lights, a scaffolding inspector will advise on individual constructions.

We supply Duracell Industrial batteries with our products, which have an average lifespan of 4000 hours. Fitted to one of our energy efficient LED amber flashing lights, you can expect over 12 months of use in normal working conditions.

Replacement batteries are available here.
